A camera is only as good as it's app. Reolink has such potential, but it's bogged down by their awful app. No rich notifications, and the notifications you do receive are so delayed that by the time you go to the event, it's over. If you click on a past notification, it just takes you to a live feed. In 2024, this is embarrassing.

The app is nicely designed, and works great. Does what you would expect from a doorbell camera app. So far I'm very pleased with it. However, since I got a pixel 9 pro a few weeks ago, it's apparent that the reolink app does something which drains the battery very quickly. Only remedied by removing the app from active apps every time. If I don't, an all together use of 5 minutes on a whole day, 34% of total battery use is from the reolink app. For the developers; I've got screenshots of this.

The latest update has added to the numerous problems that the past few updates caused. When I first started using the app it was very nice. You could arrange the cameras for viewing the way that you preferred. With updates, that option went away. Many people complained to no avail. Now, the newest update has stopped the notifications by email. I depend on these when I'm out of town. When I test the email alerts that once worked seamlessly, I get a 400 error message.
