interesting themes but poorly executed in writing. It was hard to get through, and honestly, I skipped a lot of the fluff. I believe it can be appreciated for what it is not - a semi auto biographical work on Martel. Beyond this, the exploration of gender identity, sex, intimacy which had promise in the first two or through chapters turned into a sort of solipsism.

An amazing life journey, sad, mad, bad, hard to put down.
