Beyond Perfect is the second book in Kathryn Shay’s Wounded Heroes series. Jackson and Maisy are the main characters in this story. Jackson created a school for at risk young boys and Maisy is one of the teachers. They work hard to ignore their mutual attraction until they can no longer ignore it but they have a lot to work through before they can find their happy ending. The interaction with the boys is interesting and well written. I look forward to reading more about Jackson and Maisy.

I enjoyed this second installment in the Wounded Heroes: The Redemption Series. I was a tiny bit disappointed with how quickly the story came to an end. It is left open (as was the first one) for more information on Maisy and Jackson. There are some harrowing experiences that Jackson has from his past that still haunt him today. He feels unworthy of anyone's admiration/love. He is giving back to at risk youths that are destined for a life of crime/jail if they aren't shown different paths.
