Sally Gardner

A former actress, Sally Patricia Gardner formed her own touring company in the 1970's. She describes the venture as 'great fun, but sadly, only mildly lucrative'. In the 1980's a lifelong passion for animals led her to build and run Spikes Island, a highly successful boarding cattery. In the 1990's, asked to write a short piece for a local magazine, she continued writing only to find that the article had turned into her first novel, Lillian's Story, One Woman's Journey through the 20th Century. Astounded and delighted by its success, she has since written The Sweetest Empire and Painting by Numbers. Her fourth novel, Finding Cordelia, will be published soon and like the other three, be available on Amazon Kindle and in paperback.Sally is proud to be Chair of Shorelink Community Writers,a long-standing and thriving writers group in Hastings, which believes that laughter is essential to the creative process.Sally lives in rural Sussex with her husband, Roland, also a writer, and assorted rescued animals. Their daily walk with their dogs in the woods nearby is an important part of their lives, although they could do without Bengy the spaniel's penchant for going off and leaving them gnashing their teeth while they wait for him to reappear! For more information about Sally and her books please visit: www.sallypatriciagardner.com
