Chetan Singh Solanki

Written by Dr. Chetan Singh Solanki, author of Solar Photovoltaics: Fundamentals, Technology and Applications referred by academics worldwide, Energy Swaraj is a gem produced from the common man’s perspective. Popularly known as “Solar Man” of India, the author has done pioneering work in the field of “Solar Energy.” Widely travelled and well-read, Dr. Solanki is known for his live wire interactions with real people all over the world who are passionate about the issues close to his heart. A Professor at the Department of Energy Science and Engineering, IIT Bombay, Dr. Solanki is also an educator, innovator, researcher, entrepreneur, author and philosopher, known for his remarkable work in the solar sector. He is also the Principal Investigator in the Solar Urja through Localization for Sustainability (SoULS) project at IIT Bombay. One of his books titled, ‘Renewable Energy Technologies—A Practical Guide for Beginners’ (Hindi) got the first prize from the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Govt. of India in 2011.
