B. Duffey

Brenda Duffey spent over twenty-five years in public education after receiving her bachelor's degree from the University of Louisville in secondary education and an MSW from the Kent School of Social Work. She has worked in high schools and middle schools in Indiana, Kentucky, North Carolina, New Mexico and Oregon. Her last teaching assignment was in correctional education in a facility for adjudicated males in Oregon. After retirement in 2006 she pursued a life long dream of publishing a generational saga that would tell America's "true" history in fictional form. She published "The Peacemaker" in 2010 (available at www.kentuckywoman.net) and has spent the last few years traveling the entire country promoting and talking about her book. In the past two years Ms. Duffey has expanded her writing to include an illustrated children's short story "A Squeaky Wheel Gets Oiled" (not yet published) and adapting that story into a musical stage production "A Squeaky Wheel Gets Oiled - The Musical." Publishing and producing the play is her next project. "The Season is Ms. Duffey's debut as a writer of fantasy suitable for young adults ages 15 and above. As with "The Peacemaker" Ms. Duffey has woven a meaningful message into a form of literature highly popular with adolescents in the 21st Century.
