Truly a story remarkable in every aspect. From their unlikely beginnings to the crucial role they played during the war and beyond. It is essential reading for anyone interested in WW2 or warfare in general.

Thourougly enjoyable read. I read it as a compliment to the BBC series: it fills many gaps in the TV adaptation.

Ben Macintyre is the multimillion-copy bestselling author of books including Colditz, Agent Sonya, SAS: Rogue Heroes, The Spy and the Traitor, Agent Zigzag, Operation Mincemeat and A Spy Among Friends.
