Elijah/Rembrandt had devoted his life to the Navy and his SEAL team. His marriage had ended when a tragedy put too much pressure on the precarious relationship. A mission gone wrong had left him needing months of recovery. While the team was under suspicion from a rogue team member, Elijah returned home to family, friends, and the one woman who had and still held his heart. This a story filled with a love threatened and rocked by loss, emotions, characters worthy of the feelings they will instill in the reader, and plenty of steam. Along with the aptly named mission, the story of a love both people feel but are fighting will pull you in. The author never disappoints with anything less than a compelling story and this is no exception. I love the team of honorable men and their women. I hate the pain Elijah and Ava go through dealing with the issues between them. I want Ava to admit her problem while understanding why she can't. These are people you will care about, cry with, and cheer them on hoping they will work through the issues that separate them. I can't wait for Nic's story next and to see how the team is doing. This is my honest review of this advance reader copy and I have not been compensated in any way.

Sweetly Sexy, Dangerously Gripping, Emotionally Daring Second Chance Action Romance! Could not put it down once I started and so looking forward to more from this series to come! Lieutenant Elijah Prescott is so strong, daring and wicked smart, he returns home after a failed mission that almost killed him to try and uncover the truth of what went wrong. Ava Monroe is a sexy, sassy and head strong woman that just also happens to be his ex-wife and the one woman he can never forget. Second book in the series and I most defiantly recommend reading the first book Call to Honor to understand the underlying investigation in to the betrayal they are trying to uncover.

Elijah Prescott has recovered physically but emotionally not so good. On his next mission he had flashbacks during the mission. He knows he needs time away to get his act together. Heading back home he decides to stay with his cousin Mack to think things through. He never thought to see his ex-wife again and all the feelings brought back to the front. The loss of their child threw Ava into a downward spiral and she feels she now has her lift back on track-but does she??? Seeing Elijah again has brought this all to the front again and forces her to confront her feelings for him. Throw together for a mission was the last thing Ava wanted. Ava came face to face with Elijah and the team and how they work together and their bond towards one another. Poseidon is still hunting the traitor and are closing to finally capturing him which will hopefully clear their name once and for all. Elijah and Ava finally realize they need to finally put the past behind them or work towards a future together. Can’t wait for the next book!!
