Wren has been raised in Kentucky with very little to do with her wealthy Pennsylvania family. Her father and she have been happy in their small home making violins and music. She has never been interested in the finer things of life, bear foot and wearing stained dresses is enough for her. When her father receives a letter and they leave for Pennsylvania. Wren is not prepared for the drastic change. She has never even imagined a "season" nor is she interested in being in one. When thrown into the world of the 'ton' she is not sure she can live up to the expectations of the Ballantyne name. She must decide to either follow her heart or do her duty. James Sackett is just a devoted Steamship pilot for the Ballantynes' family. He is not prepared to meet Wren nor the feelings he tries to hide from her.

I loved the first two books but I really disliked the way the ending is. Just cut off basically.. as a reader you want to know more that happens to the character after their happy ending.
