About this ebook

The name of this book, ‘Nuclear Bomb in Ganga’ sounds fearsome. But, it is a hard fact which has to be brought in black and white for the safety of millions of Indians who consider the river ‘Sacred Ganga’ or ‘the Ganges’ as their mother.

After China detonated its first nuclear test on May, 1964 at Lop Nor, the USA was keen to keep track of further nuclear designs of Communist China in this region. The CIA teamed up with the Indian Intelligence Bureau (IB) to install a Nuclear Device on Nanda Devi Mountain to monitor further detonations by China in Lop Nor, across the Himalayas.

Inclement weather during the installation mission forced the team involved in the expedition to hide the nuclear-powered device in a ledge around 2000 feet below the installation point of the Nanda Devi Mountain. When the recovery team of Indian climbers was sent in October 1966 to retrieve the equipment, they found it missing in the glaciers due to avalanches.

The CIA and Indian Intelligence maintained an eerie silence about the missing device until it was exposed by an American magazine on 12 April 1978. The then Prime Minister of India, Morarji Desai, briefed the Parliament on 17 April 1978, about the missing device and appointed a committee of scientists to investigate this issue.

I love the thoughts which urge a writer to pen down concerns that are usually kept behind the curtains. I don't know why people love to focus on that particular side of a field that is greener rather than making their own patch a more productive and pleasant one. The book is authored by a former RAW officer who has provided us with all details about the mission and the nuclear substance and is a part of bibliography of the Intelligence history of India from its inception during the British period. This book talks about a device which was installed by the CIA and Indian Intelligence Bureau ( IB ) on Nanda Devi Mountain in an attempt to monitor neclear test in China was found missing. Being a simple yet impactful read, the book made me numb at times where author has presented his concern that if Pu -238 reached the Ganges river system, it would cause cancer to anyone who consume it. A good book. Will definitely recommend it.

The river Ganga is one of the most pure and sacred river of the nation and people relate the same with our values and ethics. But nobody knew the darker side of the tale where people's perception and vision would be deteriorated knowing the truth. The book,'Nuclear Bomb in Ganga', tells us about the plans and actions taken by our neighbouring country, China. From installing a nuclear bomb at the hills of Nanda Devi,to the aftereffects along with silence maintained by the authorities. All this and many more exciting and thrilling instances are penned by the author to give an insight into the secret and hidden world we comman man ain't aware about.

NUCLEAR BOMB IN GANGA by RK YADAV is a non-fiction book. In the very beginning it highlighted the relationship of Hindus and Ganga. As in - " The Sacred Ganga, considered as a Goddess, is the lifeline of every Hindu living in India or abroad. " More on, it shows off every single characteristic of Ganga. Covering up all the points whether a random or an important it educates us about the historical wars that took place back in 19s. It reveals the bibliography of the intelligence history of India from its inception during the British period. Overall, it was a good educational read for me. The language used is lucid but somewhat a professional taste as it includes history. I recommend this book to everyone, as it is a good - fine educational read. EDUCATIONAL
