About this ebook

In the third House of Night novella, the secret history we've all been waiting for is finally revealed.

Neferet, the Tulsa House of Night's darkly seductive High Priestess, wasn't always a powerful vampyre, but she has always been beautiful. Raised in turn-of-the-century Chicago in a motherless home, her beauty makes her the prey of unwanted attention and abuse, leaving her with scars that will never heal - and a Darkness that will eventually need to find its way out. But when she is Marked and gains strength, both physical and magickal, she turns her anger into power and looks for a way to regain what was stolen from her. From victim to High Priestess, beautiful young woman to powerful seductress, Neferet's journey begins . . .

Whilst this book is really well written, and it does give us some understanding of Neferet I find that it lacks too much. Yes, Neferet saw the white bull as a fountain in her mothers garden.. but how did she really meet him? Did Darkness i.e. the white bull conceal her in the garden and allow her to travel concealed? Now we know how Neferet's human life ended but how did the Light within her really die, and how did Darkness get her loyalty? I was very disappointed none of the above was revealed, basically the book didn't tell me anything I didn't know from the HoN books, it just gave more details. Therefore, I find it a waste of £4.99 - I hadn't needed to know how Arthur failed her, how she turned on her friends.

I have been following, in reading, the whole series of the books by PC and Kristin Cast. And this one was just as easy to understand and read and fantastically thought provoking without obvious crudeness being added. Brilliant book and series to follow for all ages. Especially for those that are not really keen on fairies and such nice imaginative niceties. And pleased that these books havent been degraded in to a film yet. Very detailed in religious scripture. Enjoyable, grippable and pleasant read. Fantastic illustrations.

Such a good book...I was completely hooked. I feel so sorry for Emily (Neferet). I feel I have more of an understanding of why she became who she is. I almost can't fault her for becoming dark. It seems that darkness was definitely lingering around her as she was weakened by events in her life... As I understand it The actions of killing her father, throwing her mothers pearls away after slicing her finger and accidentally getting blood on them, as well as changing her name was like a ritual in whereby she gave into darkness. So excited to read more! 🖤😍
