Restrained Under His Duty

Restrained Under His Duty is the third book in this series and they just keep getting better. Ryder falls for his boss's daughter Hadley, who has had him in her sites for a while, while trying to prevent a political scandal. This book has a little of everything, political corruption, sex scandal, hot steamy sex scenes and a love story that develops and brings it all back around. This book had my attention from start to finish and I just hated to put it down.

I really enjoyed this one! It's very well written and the characters are intriguing. The sex is seriously hot and the twists and turns in the story kept things interesting. There's also a nice pace to the story making it one you don't want to miss. Ryder Blackwood never realized that providing security for a very public senator could bring so much trouble with it. Trouble in the name of Hadley Winters, the senators daughter. He tries to stifle the attraction he feels when it comes to Hadley but some things are too strong to ignore. As their relationship begins to form they found themselves in so very dangerous situations and Hadley has to depend on Ryder for more than she ever imagined.

Restrained Under His Duty is Ryder Blackwood and Hadley Winters story, the third book in this series. This book could be read by itself, but would be much better reading the first two books in the series. The book is very fast paced. A lot happens in this book. This book continues with the tabloids going after the Dominants Council members and the members intentionally feeding them false information in order to figure out who's behind all this. What they don't realize is how serious things really are, who the major players are, what the endgame is and what's at stake. Hadley has been in love with Ryder since she was a child, she is also Senator Gary Winters daughter. Ryder wouldn't be where he was today without the Senator's backing, and knows he can't have Hadley or is it he shouldn't. Things heat up between them when a blackmailer sends a video of Hadley in an attempt to get the Senator to resign and Ryder realizes that Hadley is doing risky things to get his attention. But this isn't a good time to start things up between them with so much going on and their respective histories. The chemistry between them is hot, but if you are looking for a BDSM story, I think it falls short of that mark. There were definitely some plot twists in this book I wasn't expecting and it was definitely welcome and made it hard to put the book down. Looking forward to seeing how Gabe's story unfolds, but really am hoping that Alex (Ryder's #2) will get a story!!
