About this ebook

Rekindled by an unexpected trade, Damon and Lyra face the fiery remnants of a past romance that challenges them to rewrite the rules of love amidst the high stakes of the NHL.

Damon Smith, the NHL’s notorious “Bone Breaker,” has never forgiven himself for leaving—especially not Lyra, the one woman who saw past his tough exterior. Now, traded back to the Newport Beach Seagulls, he’s confronted not just with his past but with Lyra herself, who stirs up old feelings that Damon thought were buried under years of ice.

Lyra Sanders, once naively in love with Damon, has tried to move on. As an emerging writer struggling with writer’s block, she finds her muse shockingly reignited by Damon’s unexpected return. Their reconnection is fraught with tension and unresolved passion that threatens to write a new chapter neither of them can resist.

As they navigate the pressures of the NHL, old wounds reopen and new conflicts arise. Lyra and Damon must decide if they can heal the scars of their past love or if some chapters are better left unturned. With each encounter more charged than the last, can they play a fair game in love, or will their unrequited past cost them everything?

Unrequited Scars & All Stars is a second chance hockey romance featuring a possessive hero, father’s best friend, and a sprinkle of enemies to lovers.

This story is dual POV, well written, and an interesting, emotional second chance romance. I enjoyed Damon’s growing self awareness and appreciated that he genuinely reached out for help. I enjoyed Lyra’s personal development. I enjoyed the erotic intimate scenes and flashbacks. I received a complimentary copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Damon and Lyra have a story that is full of emotion. They have a second chance age gap romance with backstory/history between them. It complicated between these two. Damon is a character that is not so likable in the beginning (he's an alpha-hole) but is likable in the end. It was very easy to become invested in these two.

The next book in the slapshot hockey series and enjoyed it. It is Damon and Lyra's second chance age gap romance.Damon was traded from the Gulls eight years ago and now he has been traded back and is back in town. He was close to his teammates and best friends with Lyra's father and thought of them as family until he got into a relationship with Lyra and their friendship ended. He left without saying goodbye they did not get the closure they both need. Now he is back, their feelings and attraction is still there.Lyra has moved on and is dating Cole who has been chosen as the all star of the gulls and who her father aporoves of. Damon does not like seeing them together his feelings for Lyra have not changed. They both eventually admit to their feelings and have to go through some angst and get over the obstacle of her father to get to their happily ever after. An enjoyable read with lots of emotions, anger, steam, family, teammates, locker room banter and a happily ever after. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
