About this ebook

It was a truth universally acknowledged that one’s suitors and ghosts ought never mix, especially if the ghost was one’s father.

Resigned to spinsterhood in her English manor house, Mary Trentwood is horrified when her father’s ghost crawls from his grave and struggles as he spouts opinion after opinion about the most mundane things.

Mistaking the newly-arrived and quietly handsome Alexander Hartwell as her father’s solicitor—for who else would interrupt her mourning?—Mary soon realizes her father is adding matchmaking to his repertoire. Neither Mary nor her father realize Hartwell hunts a blackmailer, and shouldn’t waste time seeking Mary’s smiles…

HAUNTING MISS TRENTWOOD is a cozy Victorian fantasy featuring sweet romance, found family, and ridiculous comedy-of-manners fun.

I absolutely loved this! Belinda does a fabulous job of crafting phenomenal characters that leave you laughing so hard you look like a crazy person waiting in the carpool lane. I adored every moment waiting for Alex and Mary to get together.☺️ She even managed to pull off a tiny love triangle in a way that didn't make me want to throw my phone - no small feat. I'll be honest, Mary's father coming out of the grave at the beginning had me worried I'd stumbled into a scary ghost story, but he ended up being hilarious and one of my favorite characters. The book was absolutely NOT scary, which I appreciated because I'm not hear for that. I'm here for exactly what Belinda delivered: a cozy, sweet romance with hilarious characters using their morbid sense of humor to maintain sanity in the craziness of their world. 100% would recommend this book! I can't wait for the next one to hit Play Books so I can read how Jasper manages to man up enough to deserve a happily ever after for himself.

So cool and so different. This book was very different, very unique and I enjoyed the author’s writing style. It has a rather dry humor with a touch of suspense and danger within this fantasy. I liked the characters but I did second guess the heroine and that whole Jasper thing. The ending was super interesting I loved it. If you are looking for something ordinary this is not the book for you but if you want to live on the edge pick this one up. I did receive a free copy of this book from Booksprout and voluntarily chose to review it.

Whimsical Gothic || I read A LOT, so it’s rare when I see a book—especially a fiction book--that is truly something different. This is one of those rare unique books, and though I’ve finished it, I haven’t quite decided whether or not I like it. The book feels a bit uneven to me, going between a very British tongue-in-cheek humor and a somewhat macabre Gothic feel. The dialogue felt a little stilted at times, like the author was trying a little too hard, perhaps. Good characterization, though.
