I enjoyed this because it was 'light'. No high anxiety. I could read a few chapters before bed or nap without waking in a cold sweat. It was a short story, so other than the main character, the 'supporting' roles were not in depth, just enough information to let the reader know what motivated them. I enjoyed it very much because 1. brevity 2. main character Claudia was likable from the very beginning. 3. suspense was not overwhelming 4. the last pages showed me, or anyone who has been fooled by a lover who we saw as "the one" to be a liar and a narcissist only in hindsight. How best to proceed. Perhaps because mine is so fresh,the wounds so deep they still sting,I wanted to read a lighthearted book and, in the end,got the best advice ever. I didn't look at any reviews before reading this,I rarely do. I hope other readers will see much the same message I did. Thank you for taking the time to read my review. Have a wonderful day.

I liked the storyline and the mystery in finding a murderer. also the possibility of a future romance. the UN threading of the clues and eventual solving of the murder.

This is an enjoyable cozy mystery. Claudia comes to town to see her inherited farmhouse & get a fresh start. There were some annoying holes in the begining of the story, like where was was she staying if the house was in such a bad state? Was there even a bed in the house (or furniture) & if not, how did she get one? After these small things @ the beginning, the story took off and was quite enjoyable. The characters were well developed & the plot well done.
