Romance that is steamy, sweet and informative. Very likeable characters with their instant attraction building into a friendship fits the friends to lovers troupe well. What really drives this story though their individual mental issues, how supportive they can be to one another based on their individual experiences and how they function and/or work through them and swim out of that occurrence. I think this explores mental health more than any romance book I've ever read yet relatable because I think all readers can relate to at least a little bit anxiety experience in their lifetimes. I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to read and leave a review.

Aja exploding into his life blowing his plans up, there is something about this woman that draws him to her and they quickly decide to embark on a no commitment relationship. Of course those plans quickly go off the rails and it was entertaining to watch their story play out. Both have baggage (and I really felt for both of them) that they need to deal with and it was encouraging to watch them support one another. There were moments were I laughed out loud whilst reading Bet On It.

Aja and Walker see themselves as broken and struggle to truly trust and let people in. Both of them have built successful careers while they cope with debilitating anxiety. Is there any chance they can find a forever together? I rode the rollercoaster with both of them as they chartered new paths for their lives. This story made me laugh, cry and swoon. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.

Jodie Slaughter is the author of Bet on It. She is a twenty-something romance author who spends most of her days hunched over a laptop making fictional characters kiss. She loves love, so she writes romance novels full of heart, passion, and heat. When she isn’t putting steamy scenes or declarations of devotion on the page she can normally be found being generally hilarious on twitter, dreaming about brisket, or consuming way too much television. She lives in Kentucky.
