And while he is remembered for his record-breaking catches, such as the 464-pound marlin caught off the coast of Tahiti, Zane Grey also enjoyed freshwater fishing for bass, trout, steelhead, and salmon. About the author
Born in Zanesville, Ohio in 1872, Zane Grey became one of America's most prolific and beloved writers. While known primarily for his Western novels, he spent a large part of his life fishing and writing about his experiences. He died in 1939.
