Wooed by You

I enjoyed the angst that Isabel felt in letting Linc into her life. I've read other books by Knightly and she handled the male viewpoints better. This one made Linc seem robotic, but a good man. I think he would feel more angst about Isabel's attitude regarding his career choice, even though he would do anything to win Isabel.

When planting a tree, Isabel Garcia found a briefcase full of drugs. Her late husband had been a drug dealer so she reported her find to Lieutenant Linc Heller who had originally handled the case. This couple are attracted to each other but Isabel doesn't want to get involved with Linc because of his dangerous job. She also has a 5 year old daughter to think about and keep safe. Linc understands Isabel's feelings about his profession but he is crazy about her so he pursues her. He shows her what a good man is like and that love does exist. I loved the characters in this story. Isabel was a wonderful woman. She's strong, a fantastic mother and daughter and very hard worker. Linc was a tough, no nonsense type man at work but very kind and sweet with Isabel and her daughter, Suzie. He's the perfect man. Suzie was the cutest little girl. I just loved her. This romance had me in tears and smiling at the same time. If you like romance, read this.

An excellent story of a single mom dealing with circumstances that are completely out of her control. Finding out her late husband was involved in criminal activities was difficult but she dealt with it. Now though she finds herself having to deal with it again when a simple gardening activity unearths more evidence against him. Detective Linc Heller showing up on her doorstep was something she was prepared for, her crazy attraction to him wasn't. His relentless pursuit of her wasn't expected either. He's determined to prove to her that he has what it takes to make her happy but his profession is one thing that scares her the most. She doesn't think she or her son can handle another devastating loss in their life. Linc won't give up on them though and is willing to do whatever it takes for her to want him back. This book is wonderfully written with a nice easy flow and some pretty terrific characters. Definitely one I recommend!
