What You Need

This is the first book in a new series and a shorter read than I am used to from this author. It's also a tamer romance than the other series of her's I have read. With that being said I still really enjoyed it and meeting Brady and Lennox. I love how I've never been to this part of the mid-west but while reading I feel like I'm there. The details about the food, drinks, culture and area are great and are always amazing in any Lorelei James book. I enjoyed meeting the friends and family in this book and am looking forward to reading the rest of this series. A great light fun easy read perfect for reading while lounging by the pool or beach!

It is rare these days, when you find a favorite author, to truly enjoy every story that author creates. When that author changes the 'type' she writes about, one can only worry-"Will I still like her?" Will her ability to make you fall in love with her new characters continue? I have wondered this more than once with Lorelei James. I found my new 'favorite author' with the Rough Riders Series and was happy to read all her works in that and the Black Top Cowboys Series. Then she went to a total different tone in the Mastered Series and, again, I happily found that her ability to draw me in and become invested in her characters continued. Now, Ms. James has created a new style for herself in the Need You Series. Starting with "What you Need" James turns her focus on contemporary romance and from the beginning I was invested in Lennox and Brady and actively rooting form them to find their happily-ever-after. Brady and Lennox both found, inside their hearts, the tools to change themselves and become a couple made for each other. It was nice to see a vulnerable alpha male hero find his match with Lennox, who overcame her past to become a strong woman. Their story will draw you in and make you NEED them to find their Happily-Ever-After. Lorelei James delivers with "What you Need" and I look forward to her next offering in the Need You Series

There was something that was eternally sweet about Lennox and Brady. They were both adults, but they still had the lingering remnants of their childhood about them. They weren't childish by any means, but they had been shaped so clearly but their early life experiences, it followed them in their adult decisions. The pictures they had of themselves, their self-esteem, their self-worth, was still jaded by their early lives And they were super hot, super sexy, and super perfect together on every level!
