Abbott ist Autorin von nunmehr elf Romanen; ihre Texte erschienen in der New York Times, im Guardian, im Wall Street Journal und im Los Angeles Times Magazine. Sie wurde für zahlreiche Preise nominiert und ausgezeichnet.
