This has been one of the most hardest books to read, I've cried so much reading this story. How can a mother torture her children, mainly Torrie through out her life every day, it broke my heart so much that I wanted to stop reading it but I also wanted to finish her story and know that she got justice, but justice wasn't served in the right way, 12 years only serving 7 years for the most horrifying abuse you can even think if, this book has been so hurtful to read. I'm so proud of her that she gained the strength throughout it all and so heart broken what she went to, this really is a story I won't ever forget xx

The experiences of this poor abused child are atrocious. The mother is obviously demented and enjoys inflicting a variety of sadistic punishments for imagined bad behavior on this one particular child. She is singled out to be abused by siblings as well as her mother. The child's life is one of continued torture, starvation and neglect. Victoria is subjected to total isolation even among her classmates. She lives in terror of being spoken too by children or teacher as her mother will view this as an act of disobedience. The abuse is constant and she is given no reprieve. Life is unbearable for the child.

You can sense that Victoria Spry wrote this book through pain, tears, sorrow, and alas, joy. Such an incredible story of an amazingly strong young woman who is in every sense of the word, a survivor. I wish nothing but love, happiness and kindness for Victoria for the rest of her days. As for Eunice Spry, while she walked away free after serving a pitiful amount of time given the extent of her horrible crimes, God will judge and he will judge harshly.
