Morgan just wanted a quiet simple doctor’s life after an adrenaline filled career in the ER and Africa. But there’s plenty of edge of your seat rescues and emergency surgeries to make this story intense. Add in the drama of partnering with a doctor she had one night with many years ago. The feelings are still there and there’s a lot of back and forth between them as they are both still attracted to each other, but she’s not sure if she can trust Ely after what her deceased husband did. He wants her, but then worries he’s putting her before his son and that she will leave him brokenhearted. The rest of the island characters seemed very welcoming and supportive.

Morgan has been dealt a terrible blow one that leaves her devastated. She takes off to reset her life but now that the time is up, she agrees to work at her mentor's clinic while he goes on vacation. Taking the job puts her in contact with Ely her one-night stand ten years ago and needless to say the sparks are still there. Has destiny sent her full circle, and will their reconnection lead them to a happily ever after this time around? This story had me in their corner to get their second chance for happiness! Dr. Morgan and Dr. Ely met ten years ago and he never called her, after the one hot night they shared. They’re now working at the same clinic and their chemistry is still as hot as ever. She is now a widow to her cheating husband and he is a single father to Dylan. As they work together, it’s hard to deny their attraction to each other. Will they have a chance for a HEA with her walls up and him unable to tell her how he feels or will she leave when her time is up? If you enjoy steamy, medical second chance romances with single dads, you won’t be disappointed with this book. This is my first book written by Traci Douglass, but it woke my last.
