4.5 Stars “God will see you through. He’s bought you so far, Bri. If you look back at where you were and your journey to now, you’d know it. You’d see His handiwork.” This quote from In Search of a Prince sums up so much of the heart of this story by Toni Shiloh. It is beautifully written and wonderfully told. From the gorgeous cover to the last page, is has more gems than the princess’s tiara. The characters are so real and most of them are delightful to spend time with. Shiloh’s writing makes it obvious that she spent much time in researching her story’s location and culture, but her research is seamlessly incorporated into her story. The characters have a strong relationship with God and their prayers are an integral part of the book. I highly recommend this book for readers of contemporary Christian fiction especially those who enjoy a little fairy tale aspect to their reads. I congratulate Toni Shiloh on her first Bethany House publication. It is a winner! I was given a copy of this book by the publisher. All opinions stated are my own.

This book was so good! I was completely enveloped in this story from start to finish! Brielle, along with her friends and family, pulled me in and kept me flipping pages in an effort to find out what would happen next and how everything would turn out! The setting was amazing and I really felt like I was taking a trip to a tropical paradise with the characters. I fell in love with Bri’s grandfather, the king, right alongside our heroine and one aspect I really loved was the close friendship between Brielle and Iris and their shared faith that made it so much stronger. Reminiscent of Princess Diaries, this book was a blast! I really came to care for the characters and could almost feel the things they were going through myself, as I read. Author Toni Shiloh did an awesome job of making this story and its characters relatable on so many levels and I am astounded! I really enjoyed this novel and am very happy to have gotten to read In Search of a Prince as my debut into this author’s work!

We meet Brielle, a modern American woman, who finds out she is the heir to the throne of a place she never knew existed. All her mother ever told her about her father was that he died before she was born. Now she finds out he was a prince and his father {her grandfather} the King, is dying and wishes her to fly there where he can meet her before he dies. She travels to this West African country and totally falls in love with the inhabitants and her grandfather. But do fairy tales really come true? She is overwhelmed as to what her grandfather wants her to do. Can she become a princess and most of all will the people accept her as one when she is an American?… Shiloh writes such descriptive characters, some unexpected twists, and a believable resolution with a delightful ending. I was given an e-copy via NetGalley and this in my review.
