Caitlín R. Kiernan is a vertebrate paleontologist and author of many fantasy novels, including Silk, The Drowning Girl, Threshold, Low Red Moon, Murder of Angels, Daughter of Hounds, and The Red Tree. Her award-winning short fiction has been collected in six volumes.
