Grace’s husband died six months ago while serving his country. At least that’s what she thought. Lucas, her husband’s friend, has been sent to protect her from some extremely dangerous people. I loved how this couple start out not liking each other and as the story progresses, so does their mutual respect and ultimately, love. It’s a book that is in constant motion emotionally as they work out their own personal issues. The fact that Lucas was so icy cold and yet Grace was able to thaw him so completely was the greatest selling point in this story. With a background like his I would be surprised if he wasn’t iced over. Grace is struggling just to prove to herself that she’s talented and worthy. She’s a strong heroine but not afraid to accept the help that is being offered to her. Well, after he talks her into it anyway. I’ve struggled with the last couple of books by this author but this one reminded me why I keep reading her. This hit the bullseye, dead center! This is an honest review of an advanced copy provided by NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press. Dual POV Safe – no ow/om drama Possible Triggers – heroine is attacked but not in a sexual manner Epilogue – not for this couple but sets up next book

The second Tate Brothers book is an intense and passionate read that kept me glued to the pages from beginning to end. Lucas and Grace are solid, compelling characters that both have some emotional issues that has them shying away from love but they can’t help exploring the chemistry that burns strong and hot between them. Readers can easily relate to both characters and can’t help becoming caught up in their story as Lucas fights to protect Grace. The plot is complex, faced paced and multi-layered as it also includes an enemy that seems to have it out for all of the Tate Brothers as well as the bad guys that are after Grace which makes the story full of adrenaline pumping suspense that keeps readers on the edge of their seats as bad guys, surprising twists and emotional turmoil fill the pages. This is the first book in this series that I have read and I had no trouble picking up on the overall plot that involves all three brothers, so the books can be read out of order. While this is the first book in this series it is not the first book by Jackie Ashenden, so I wasn’t surprised that I really enjoyed reading The Wicked Billionaire and of course I am going to have to go back and read The Dangerous Billionaire while I am waiting for The Undercover Billionaire to come out.

LOVED this book! Lucas is a Navy SEAL sniper and relies on the focus and control needed to do his job so much that he applies it to every aspect of his life, ensuring that he never feels anything too strongly. Then he reads the letter his foster father left him after his death and is stunned that he's been tasked with protecting the widow, Grace, of a deceased member of his SEAL team. While aggravated with the task, he begins surveillance of Grace in an effort to protect her, however, Grace spots him and calls him out, leading to the bad guys learning of their connection. What follows is a very sexy tale that has both Lucas and Grace pushing their boundaries. The author is a master at telling a sexy romance and fans of the genre will love this book. While it is part of a series, it is a stand alone novel. I loved that both book one and book two took place at the same time, alowing a window into each brother's view of what was happening and how they felt about it. This is a must read for romance fans. The author is on my must read authors' list.
