Secret Service Agent Jeremy Pike calls on the Gunsmith to help investigate the South Fork Fishing and Hunting Club outside Pittsburgh, where the likes of Dale Carnegie and Henry Frick go hunting—and don't take kindly to strangers. He co-founded and edited Mystery Scene magazine and co-founded the American Crime Writers League. He founded The Private Eye Writers of America in 1981, where he created the Shamus Award.
