About this eBook

Life on Frogmorton Farm is never peaceful for long . . .

Discover book two in the magical Frogmorton Farm series from Jodi Taylor, author of the internationally bestselling Chronicles of St Mary's.

Life is good at Frogmorton Farm. Yes, Jenny and Russell are still broke. Yes, the roof still leaks. And yes, the Checklands are about to become the long-suffering owners of a battalion of trouble-seeking Patagonian Attack Chickens. But life is still quite wonderful for someone who used to be called the Nothing Girl.

Jenny Checkland knows better than to count her chickens, though, even the Patagonian ones. Particularly because an all-too-familiar face from the past seems to be popping up wherever she goes. She would swear it was her sinister cousin Christopher, last seen being enthusiastically hurled out of the back door by her wayward husband.

But he couldn't possibly be stupid enough to come back and try again . . . could he?

Bloody hell, Jodi! Just when I think you can't get any better, you do. I have now read every single book in every single series, with The Something Girl the last one. I initially thought that I wouldn't like it, but I have never laughed as much as I did, especially in the last chapter of The Something Girl (completely scared the snores out of the sleeping husband, when I laughed so loud, I cried). Since the departure of my favourite author, Terry Pratchett, I never thought that I'd ever enjoy reading another author as much as I did his books. Well, ma'am, you have certainly equalled his genius. Your books are all the feels, on every single page. Thank you for another brilliant read. I can't wait for April and the next book in the St Mary's series. I hope you'll be around for many, many years, writing lots and lots of insanely brilliant books.

About the author

LOSE TRACK OF TIME IN THE WORLD OF JODI TAYLOR Jodi Taylor is the internationally bestselling author of over twenty-five novels and more short stories that you can shake a stick at. Her Chronicles of St Mary's series follows a bunch of disaster-prone individuals who investigate major historical events in contemporary time. Do NOT call it time travel! She is also the author of the Time Police books. Set in the same world as St Mary's, this spinoff charts the highs and lows of an all-powerful, international organisation tasked with keeping the Timeline straight no matter what the cost. Efficient and disciplined, obviously they're nothing like St Mary's. Except when they are. In 2024, The Ballad of Smallhope and Pennyroyal accidentally grew from a short story to a full-length novel, revealing the origin story of two beloved characters who feature in both series. Jodi is also known for her gripping supernatural thrillers featuring the mysterious Elizabeth Cage together with the enchanting Frogmorton Farm series - a fairy story for adults. Born in Bristol and now living in Gloucester (facts both cities vigorously deny), she spent many years with her head somewhere else, much to the dismay of family, teachers and employers, before finally deciding to put all that daydreaming to good use and write a book.
