However, upon seeing the horrors of the battlefield, Fleming's initial enthusiasm and desire for glory soon turns to fear and terror. This story is one of finding courage in the face of unspeakable horrors.

Tungkol sa may-akda

Despite his relatively short life and key contribution to American literature, Stephen Crane wasn't an instant literary success. Born in 1871, his first novel, Maggie: A Girl of the Streets-which he wrote at the age of twenty-two-was shunned by many publishers who thought it unsuitable for late nineteenth-century Americans. Crane then turned to writing about warfare which resulted in The Red Badge fo Courage which brought him international acclaim. Crane died at the age of 28 just five years after his literary success.
