Twelve-year-old Josephine Russing lives alone with her father. Carolyn Cohagan grew up in Austin, Texas, and has an extensive theater background. She has performed stand-up and one-woman shows at festivals around the world including Edinburgh, Edmonton and Adelaide. She is an advocate for literacy among young readers, volunteering with the non-profit organization Reading to Kids. She currently lives in Los Angeles, California, and The Lost Children is her first novel.
