The story is nothing unusual than the standard isekai adventure fantasy fare. What sets it apart is how it explores the themes of friendship, hierarchical relationship, and the human condition in desperate times. Its not really the story as much as how its told that sets this volume apart

I was already enjoying it, then I saw some yaoi undertones and this just went from a 9 to a 10.
