Sherlock Holmes was created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, a Scottish author and physician. Doyle wrote a total of four novels and 56 short stories that feature Holmes. All of these stories were published between 1887 and 1927, and now they often appear as ‘The Complete Sherlock Holmes’.
