Poi, a causa di una circostanza sfortunata, viene a trovarsi in pericolo di vita, ed è costretta a dimostrare il suo coraggio, difendendo se stessa e Bit. A metà strada tra fantasy e fantascienza, questo racconto lungo descrive il rapporto tra una ragazza e una gatta, tratta di amicizia, invidia, bontà e cattiveria, e si chiude con il più classico degli innamoramenti.
