About the author

Swami Tejomayananda: is a disciple and successor of Swami Chinmayananda and current worldwide head of Chinmaya Mission. A gifted musician, singer and poet he has composed many poems and authored numerous spiritual texts in English, Sanskrit and Hindi. Simple, humorous and clear - he breaks down the wisdom of the scriptures into the simplest forms. With the help of anecdotes and examples of daily life he blends poetry and prose, vividly portraying the subtle and abstract concepts of Hindu Philosophy.


His major works include his own compositions such as Jivansutrani (Tips for Happy Living) which is a string of aphorisms on successful living and Adarsha Jivan (Life of Vision) is a collection of Sanskrit verses to offer us an ideal vision of life. He has also penned commentaries on the compositions of various other saints which are highly acclaimed such as Ramana Maharshi’s Upadesh Sara and Vallabhacharya’s Madhurashtakam. Also he has translated the works of Swami Chinmayananda into Hindi. Another key contribution of his is Hindu Culture: An Introduction, a text acclaimed for its clear description of the basics of Hinduism, which has been adopted as a reference text in some American high schools.


He has authored over 50 titles and continues to inspire people through his writings and compositions.
