Persisted with all the books in this series. They meander through history and in my opinion, plod along with the plot and take forever to get anywhere. Just as I thought a particular story might be getting somewhere it would stop and begin again in the next chapter 12/25/120 years later with different characters that needed re-referencing. We all like different things and some reviews found this series masterful, others regret the cost and time spent. I stuck with it but it didn't grip.

Stephen Baxter is the pre-eminent SF writer of his generation. With Terry Pratchett he has co-authored the Long Earth novels. Published around the world he has also won major awards in the UK, US, Germany, and Japan. Born in 1957 he has degrees from Cambridge and Southampton. He lives in Northumberland with his wife.
