About this ebook

Miss Georgianna Eleanor Heyford may be naught but a gentleman’s daughter, but even she’s heard the rumors about the Earl of Stannis’s exceptional charm and good looks. Surely she can cater his luxurious yacht party without getting swept away. But a terrible misunderstanding leaves Georgianna fired, furious, and with little recompense. Which is precisely when her opportunity for vengeance washes ashore...

Daniel Rutherford, the Earl of Stannis, has absolutely no memory of who he is. They tell him he must have fallen overboard, and the only person he seems to recognize is the lovely Georgianna—who strikes a chord of familiarity...and the faintest memory of heating his blood. Only now this inelegant, poorly dressed woman claims to be his wife!

But the truth is, Georgianna is finally getting her revenge. The dashing earl will work off the money he owes her and no one will be the wiser. Except the longer he stays with her and her younger sisters, the more it feels like he belongs there. And that perhaps he’d find a forever place in Georgianna’s heart...at least, until his memory returns...

Even better than the movie! We're huge fans of the Goldie Hawn/Kurt Russell movie - so much fun and a terrific romance! I'm happy to report that this book takes the same premise and sets it in the Victorian era, then somehow makes it even better with an outstanding cast of characters and plenty of steam. We met Daniel in the earlier book and knew him to be a rake and a libertine of the highest order. When circumstances progress to make it necessary for Georgie to claim him as her husband, it's more than just revenge she had in mind - his careless comments made it absolutely unavoidable, resulting in her being trapped almost as much as he was. I loved that she was determined to make the best of it by using his presence to square things between them. And Daniel - whew! What a complex man! He's got a provocatively dirty mouth, an innate sense of who he is even without his memory, and deep down there's some serious moral fiber. The pacing was exquisite, and the ultimate "big reveal" was stunning and devastating in the way he took his own form of sweet revenge. It would have been an unforgivable act if we didn't already know they'd end up together eventually. I loved everything about this book. It's definitely one of the best by this author, even as much as I've loved every other book of hers I've read. I highly recommend it for anyone who loves historical romances and/or the Overboard movie. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

4 stars — This is one of those books that kind of challenged me, b/c honestly? There were aspects that I was initially NOT a fan of. And I think I’m still thinking of them. But at the same time, b/c of those aspects, I think I was surprised at how much I ended up loving the parts I loved. Vague enough for you? *snort* Here’s the thing. I think I requested this book based purely on author alone. I’ve really been enjoying Ms. Reid (though I will admit, they’re not guaranteed hits for me).

This was absolutely delightful! And I have never used that word to describe a book I’ve read but it’s the only one that fits. I loved everything about this story. Together, this couple were just too much fun. I loved every moment of this story and it ended way too soon. This was a fast paced read that never bogged down and was relatively low angst throughout. The drama is low, the laughs abundant and the steam sizzling.

About the author

Stacy Reid is an avid reader of novels with a deep passion for writing. She especially loves romance and adores writing about people falling in love. When Stacy is not writing, she spends a copious amount of time drooling over Rick Grimes from The Walking Dead, watching Japanese anime, and playing video games with her love, Du’Sean Nelson. stacyreid.com
