Sivanandalahari, the Inundation of Divine Bliss, is a work noted as much for its literary beauty as for its devotional fervour. It is traditionally attributed to Sri Shankaracharya. The text uses all devices of poetic art to depict the sentiment of devotion, and highly suggestive metaphors follow one after another in succession presenting the various aspects of devotion in a highly artistic form. Swami Tapasyananda, who was one of the Vice-Presidents of the Ramakrishna Order with sterling intellectual acumen and scholastic learning, has transliterated and translated the text with insightful notes.
