Once again this talented author delivers a story that not only grabs your attention from the first page to the last, but also is filled with heart. We are back in Asheville, North Carolina with the former SEALs that are creating a safe haven for those veterans that return needing a place to recover while also getting a service dog that could change their lives. Dallas Manning, a friend and teammate of the founders Jack and Noah, has gone to hell and back after not only being capture for two weeks, but also torture and scarred to almost death. He needs a place away from the family and the Montana ranch he called home. Being touch after his torture is another type of torture, and he just wants to be left alone. What he never expected when he goes to the isolated cabin for his R & R , is stuntwoman Rachel Denning. Rachel is hiding from a murder and thought the cabin would be the perfect place. From the moment Dallas meets “the wildcat”, something inside of him changes as well. As the danger increases , so do feelings. But both are afraid to express those feelings. Besides, their lives are in different parts of the country and truly, Dallas still thinks of himself as a broken man. Will they survive the danger? Will they get a chance of finding their HEA or will each go their separate ways? It was bittersweet to see this series come to an end, but it was also heartwarming to see how these brave men found happiness with their soulmates. I was entrusted a copy of this book by Netgalley an Carina Press. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
