Wow! This book will definitely keep you turning pages. Set in Ireland and centered around a large country hotel called Hares landing which has been the home to tragic events from suicide to disappearing teenagers. Two women staying at the hotel are escaping different situations, Rachel is trying to escape the people who have hurt her Husband and broken into their home, taking specific items connecting to Rachel and Hunters work in the film industry. Caroline is trying to forget the trouble she is in at work as a reporter which she feels she has been the victim of something much deeper and out of her control. The two women find that the local's are very wary of them, presuming that Caroline is there to report the mystery of two missing teenagers many years before, the sister of one of the missing teenagers runs a local pottery and does not want the past to be brought up again as it is too painful for her but when a body is found at the hotel people start to panic, the locals know much more than they are willing to say which in turn puts Rachel and Caroline in much danger! An excellent read with a surprising ending.

From the first chapter it was clear that there was going to be plenty of interesting secrets to uncover in this book. At the start, Alfie, a homeless man, sends a letter promising to explain his past, but shortly after sending the letter he is discovered dead. Rachel wishes to find out more about what lead Alfie to live on the streets, leading her to Hare's landing, a house full of dark secrets. There, Rachel meets Caroline, a crime writer from New York, and together they piece together facts about the secrets of the house and wonder how this house could link to Alfie. I loved how this book gradually pieces together new information to give the reader new information bit by bit. I was gripped by the book the entire way through and the regular twists and turns kept me interested. I would thoroughly recommend this book to anybody who likes a thriller!

First of all thank you so much to readers first for my advanced copy. Rachel leaves town for her own safety and in the hope of uncovering the death of a homeless man. It leads her to a place called Hare Landing. Meanwhile Caroline, a crime reporter, visits Hares Landing to get away after a complaint has been made about her, with a possible court case. Together Rachel and Caroline, set off uncovering all of the secrets from Hares Landing. What an amazing book!!! I read it in two days. It was unbelievably chilling, so chilling its almost impossible to put it down. It completly pulled me in! I loved Rachel and Caroline, it was like they turned into detectives, admittedly I felt like a detective trying to draw my own conclusions. And the twists were amazing. First time I have read a book by Sam Blake, and it will not be my last. Well deserved five stars from me!
