The drawing styles are too different, and only one of the styles was appealing. The "so-called-manga-style" was good, but calling it Manga-style is a bit limiting, I think. The story was a bit bland but mostly just underdelivered and too obvious. There were good moments between the main character and Jonah Jameson, but there wasn't really enough great story-telling for that moment to shine. The main character is an interesting idea, but she's written in a way that makes her one-dimensional. Also, people have pointed this out, having her be bitten by the same spider as Spiderman is a bit of a missed opportunity to find a more interesting origin story. Last but not least, it was a bit creepy to have a romance in there as she's only just turned 18. On top of that, the romance reached its peak quite fast, which even if the romance was valid, would be way too fast. Most new characters were quite forgettable and didn't add any depth to the story. Apart from Pokemon, which didn't quite stick.
