This is a story of triumph and courage and taking a chance on love again, even in the face of overwhelming odds against you. Rosa has secrets. Secrets that she doesn't share with anyone, well, except a very few. Her life has held some horrific events and she feels she is destined for life alone so she carved out a life with a few select friends and a place on the Oregon beach. She's happy, isn't she? Wyatt lost the love of his life when his wife died. He isn't going to find another love but he has a young son and perhaps he should try love again for him. It's been a few years now. How can he possibly be attracted to Rosa - the woman has secrets and as a police detective, he doesn't like that! But, his son loves her and Rosa love his son! I devoured this book in one day. So sweet and touching. Second chances and forgiveness of oneself. The secondary story of Jen and her daughter, Addie, only added another layer of meaning to the story. A must read!
