Promise of Love

Brilliant book, different kind of story line with a very strong lead woman and a man not willing to put her in danger. They have amazing chemistry and the dog is a lovely addition. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This is a contemporary romance, but it could also easily fit into thriller or comedy romance. Each book in this series has me saying this is the best one, well it looks like I'm saying it again. I absolutely love the heroine of this story, Tabitha, she says what's on her mind and takes no guff from anyone. The hero, Neal, is a tough no-nonsense, not much humor lawman. Put these two together and you get one terrific story. I'm not doing spoilers, but I do have to mention that a part of the story brought to mind my BFF advice to me, "always keep a brick handy", and, oh yes, I love dogs. Do not pass up this series, do not pass up this story, believe me when I say you're going to love it. Kudos to the author, Jodie Allen Brice, she outdid herself again.. This book is part of a series and some of it would probably mean a little more if read with the others, but it can stand alone. Tabitha is a unique lady who is having problems finding a man who can handle her outlook on life. She lives in a small town and feels that she is running out of options, so she tries online dating. Her date turns into a disaster, and she winds up getting rescued by Neal an ATF agent that she met when he was working on a previous case. Neal has definitely never encountered anyone like Tabitha; first she wins over his dog and then she inadvertently helps him on a case or two. Neal doesn't think it will ever work between them so he tells Tabitha good-bye, only he can't seem to forget her, and neither can his dog. Read this cute, funny romance and see if Neal and Tabitha and the dog can figure out a way to make their lives mesh and for a HEA.
