About this ebook

I should not still be hung up on my high school girlfriend.

I’m a billionaire, with a penthouse in New York City, a private plane, and was recently crowned one of Manhattan’s most eligible bachelors.

She’s engaged to my rival. A real prick of a guy whose family is about as famous as mine. So, pictures of the happy couple are plastered everywhere, and it’s driving me insane.

The last time I spoke to her was my freshman year of college, and I never imagined I’d bump into her at a crowded restaurant in the busiest city in the world. But fate had other plans, and when I innocently suggest that the press wouldn’t bother with her wedding plans if she held it in our small Alaskan town where we grew up, I had no idea she’d take me seriously.

Now, I find myself helping her plan the wedding at my dad’s luxury resort while the town’s gossip app follows our every move, afraid that their golden boy will get his heart broken twice by the same girl.

But that’s impossible because she stole my heart when we were fifteen, and never gave it back.

The story is a reverse unrequited love because Lance is the one who seems to anchor his feeling for Kenzie. Piper and Rayne write the book so good and make my heart ache for Lance. He has grown to be a good guy but they were young then. And now that I know what happened between them, I don't blame Kenzie one bit when she has tried her best to move on. And with a lot of thing going on between Lance and Kenzie, I find that the book is angstier than Piper and Rayne's previous books. Oh.. but don't worry that it will dim Piper and Rayne's hilarious charm because they still get me laugh out loud a few times too. The story also gives us a slow burn enemies to lovers vibe. They bicker a lot but they also have chemistry. So be patient with them because when they finally opens their eyes about their true feeling, they have "make up" a lot ;) I might feel skeptical when I started reading the book but at the end, Lance and Kenzie successfully win me over!

The Trouble With Runaway Brides was a well written second chance at love story. The characters easy to relate to and their story quickly had me invested. The connection that Lance and Kenzie once had is still there, as is the attraction that despite themselves sizzles between them. I wanted to smack them both across the back of the head and shake some sense into them at times. If only they would listen to one another, their journey may not have been as rocky.

"Sometimes you find the love of your life when you're young." The Trouble with Runaway Brides is the third book in Piper Rayne's Lake Starlight series. It is a sweet, emotional, and slow-burn second chance romance between Kenzie and Lance. Lance really wasn't thinking when he suggested Kenzie have her wedding in their hometown, it was just a slip of the tongue, a natural reaction. Heck, What were the chances she would think it was a great idea? Turns out pretty high These two were the It coup
