About this ebook

I am the Reaper and death is my shadow.

Celebrating 10 years of Red Rising! This Hodderscape Vault Edition features a re-designed cover, beautiful foil design under the jacket, and brand new bonus content by Pierce Brown.

THE FIRST BOOK IN THE NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLING SERIES

Darrow is a Helldiver. A pioneer of Mars.

Born to slave beneath the earth so that one day, future generations might live above it.

He is a Red - humankind's lowest caste. But he has something the Golds - the ruthless ruling class - will never understand.

He has a wife he worships, a family who give him strength. He has love.

And when they take that from him, all that remains is revenge . . .

Pierce Brown's heart-pounding debut is the first book in a spectacular series that combines the drama of Game of Thrones with the epic scope of Star Wars.

READERS LOVE RED RISING

'A ridiculously good book with complex world-building, riveting characters, and a crazy sci-fi space school. What more could you want in a story?' ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

'What an intense, visceral, twisty story. There's a lot more of Lord of the Flies here than Hunger Games or Ender and it just builds and builds to a heck of a conclusion' ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

'This was such a clever beginning to this series!' ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

If my favourite books are a 5, this is a 3. i liked it. Quite gripping, an easy page turner. VERY similar at times to The Hunger Games. I joked it was a mixture of The Hunger Games, RoboCop, Harry Potter (sorting of the houses), bit Lord of the Flies and various others. not a bad thing- they're all great to read (watch) and I enjoyed this. Going on to the next one now.

Struggled with the characters language initially, but once it kicks into high gear, keeps you enthralled. Blatant Hunger Games rip-off, just with armies and castles instead of individuals, for that reason it's a 3/5 and feels a bit unoriginal. Intrigued enough to want to read more though

A very enjoyable read indeed! Great, relatively fast, pace, difficult to put down and brimming with decently fleshed out characters of all kinds. Gave me all kinds of feels through out. Hope the rest of the series matches the quality of this one!
