At the same time, he considers measures to minimize restrictions on human actors in using their natural resources. Young looks at issues including climate change, biodiversity, deforestation, greenhouse gas emissions, and carbon cycle disruption in exploring impacts from the local to the global. The book draws on general ideas about the nature of governance while exploring new models for governing human-environment relations.
About the author
Oran R. Young
is Professor of Institutional and International Governance and Environmental Institutions at the Bren School of Environmental Science and Management at the University of California, Santa Barbara. He is author of numerous books including, most recently, Institutional Dynamics: Emergent Patterns in International Environmental Governance (MIT Press 2010), and was the founding chair of the Committee on the Human Dimensions of Global Change within the National Academy of Sciences in the United States.Rate this ebook
