The focus and concept of the competition is described as the basis for judging. The nature of dual-use shelter is discussed, which contributes to understanding of the techniques for controlling exposure to gamma radiation from fallout. Graphic illustrations are given of award winning dual-use shelter space in community structures appropriate to residential areas.
