"When the de Vincent men fell in love, they did so fast and hard, without reason or hesitation." An apparent romance that hides secrets wrapped in a touch of mystery and supernatural. The reader will constantly ask himself what is real and what is haunting. Moonlight Sins escapes the cliché romance and flirts with suspense. The De Vincent are a traditional family, rich, businessmen, who are surrounded by a certain mystery, have a kind of curse: over the generations, bizarre situations happened, and women end up getting involved in accidents or going crazy. The book begins with the three De Vincent brothers (Devlin, Gabriel and Lucian) finding their father's body hanged in his office. Suicide? Murder? Curse? The police are called and arrangements are made so that none of this is publicized as it would be a scandal to the family. All are suspects. What really happened? Each brother will have his own book, and the first one is focused on Lucian. He is the black sheep of the family, did not have a good relationship with his father, was even disinherited. Lucian has a twin sister, who after a disappearance of ten years, appeared in a catatonic state. Needing a nurse to take care of Maddie, whose return is unknown to the media, Julia appears in the story. Julia needs a fresh start. She needs to put some distance between her and her ex-husband who still insists on keeping in touch. So she decides to take a job as a caregiver on the other side of the country. On her last night before departure, while partying with her friends, she meets an absolutely gorgeous guy, and have the strangest and most surreal experience of her life. The next day, when she arrives at her new job, she discovers that she will work for the De Vincent, all her contracting was done by another person, for the sake of secrecy. Imagine her surprise to discover that the nightclub guy is actually Lucian De Vincent. Lucian wants Julia. And nothing will stop him. And so the main couple is introduced. We will follow the unfolding of this relationship, amidst accidents, creaking of doors and floors, laughter and whispered sounds at dawn. Many secrets surround this family. But what is real? What are the real dangers? This book was different from what I read. There are intrigues, secrets, mysteries, people who are not what they seem, unexpected revelations, in short, a whole package that holds the reader. I devoured the book for answers. The end is shocking, the reader can imagine who is to blame, but even so is caught by surprise. The motivations are consistent with everything that was presented during the narrative. The book has a conclusion, but many questions remain unanswered. All that remains is to wait for the next volume and hope that everything is tied up satisfactorily. A great book, different, that leaves the reader intrigued and anxious.
