I've never been so quick to 5 ⭐ a book. Absolutely amazing. Twisty in all the right ways, just enough subtle foreshadowing to keep me reading late into the night to find out what happened next. The format regarding the timeline was perfect. The build up was juicy, the timing for the twists to unfold, the climax, & the little bit of mystery that was left at the end - all of it was remarkable. This book is unforgettable, one of those books that you'll wish you could read for the first time again. This will be a hard book to beat for best of my reading lineup this year & it's only January.

With the start of a phone call demanding money in return for her daughter, this book immediately hooked me to find out what Meghan was going to do. Which you won't find out for awhile because the ICU where Meghan works has a patient, a survivor of a suicidal jump off a bridge and a great big mystery of why Caitlin would do such a thing. It falls to Meghan to care for this patient and comfort Caitlin's grieving family which brings up painful memories of her own. Nicely twisty and fast paced!

This is the first book I have read from this author, but it didn't take long for me to see how well she can write. The suspense is done so well it makes you feel like you are in the story, feeling everything along with the character. The type of paranoia that was built felt real. I was drawn into the story immediately. Now, there were quite a few twists and turns throughout the story, some of which were a little easy to guess. I had some things figured out from the very beginning of the book.
