About this ebook

He’s a rake beyond redemption…

The Marquess of Milton was the sort of handsome that made women swoon at his feet. Which suited him just fine. Of course, no mother would allow him near her daughter, which worked even better. Who wanted to tangle with a woman he might have to marry? But when his path crosses with Miss Eliza Carrington, a woman who is both strikingly beautiful and as fiery as they come, he knows he has to have her. And when he realizes there is no marriage minded mama to contend with… it’s time to be wicked.

She has no time for games…

The Marquess of Menace? That’s what they called him? Eliza rejects the name from the first. It implies there is something dangerous about this man when really he’s just an overgrown child. One who wanted to play at sin and dance away from the consequences of life. She’ll have none of it. And if he thinks his cute lines and his handsome face will have her falling in his bed, he’s got another thing coming. She’ll teach him a few lessons about playing with a woman’s affection that he’ll never forget.

But when danger comes knocking at her door, it’s Menace who is there to fend it off. And when his arm slips about her in comfort, she has to confess that’s it’s as strong as it is comforting.

And the reckless beating of her heart. Surely, that’s a mistake.

Having had to take responsibility for her family in the absence of her father has molded Eliza into a fiercely independent woman who is willing to take risks to protect her sisters from the wiles of her degenerate uncle. One sister is safe but there are two to go, and there is also the unsolved mystery of her father's disappearance. There is only one man she can inveigle to seek out the information she needs and he is as stubborn as she is. Dylan, the Marquess of Milton, with the moniker Menace, is wary of going near Eliza, firstly because Bash has warned him off, but also because she is everything he needs in his life and he fears messing up what could be a good relationship. Nevertheless, when Eliza receives an invitation, it is Dylan she turns to and before he knows it, he is drawn into her next escapade. This romance is fast-paced, adventurous, and intriguing as Eliza and Dash seek to get to the bottom of the mystery surrounding her missing father. It is well written and the main characters are perfectly suited to each other. I loved the interplay between Dylan and Eliza and the simmering heat between them even when Dylan was trying to protect Eliza from harm. Although there is a plot that runs through the books in this series, Eliza and Dylan's story is a standalone and comes to a happy conclusion. I received a copy of this novel as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.

Marquess Of Menace is an amazing historical romance by Tammy Andresen. Ms. Andresen has provided readers with a well-written book populated with outstanding characters. Dylan, a marquess with a piece of a gambling den and a needy estate is attracted to Eliza, but has sworn to protect her and her sisters. Eliza has her own problems, trying to stay away from her uncle and the man he wants to marry her off to. Eliza and Dylan's story is packed with drama, humor, spice, action and suspense. I enjoyed reading Marquess Of Menace and look forward to reading more from Tammy Andresen in the future. Marquess Of Menace is book 10 in the Lords of Scandal Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book that I received from Bookfunnel. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Dylan Amesbury, Marquess of Milton, is known as the Marquess of Menace. Menace is one of the partners in the Den of Sins gaming hall. The behavior responsible for his nickname is probably in response to the dejection he felt most of his life. His believes his is a failure. After all he has been told so all his life. Eliza Carrington, the eldest of four sisters, has been responsible for the well-being of the family since the death of their mother and disappearance of their shipping magnate father. She is independent, confident, and tough. She wants adventure, not marriage. In order to keep her safe and out of the clutches of the dastardly Mr. Tabor, she and Dylan agree to marry. This does not sound like a match made in Heaven, but stranger things have happened. Will they have a distant marriage of convenience or will they find a happy partnership and love? They may be surprised! Eliza and Dylan have a wonderful story. There is a mystery surrounding the shipping business running through the series. There are a number of questions: Where is the girls’ father? Who is behind the theft from the shipping company? Who is the Scot seen at the docks with Dishonor? Who is Dishonor, and what happened to him? The suspense is building. I look forward to the next story. A good read. I recommend it. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
