About the author
Marlen Haushofer wurde 1920 im oberösterreichischen Frauenstein geboren. 1946 veröffentlichte sie ihren ersten Text. Sie zählt heute mit Ingeborg Bachmann zu den Vorläuferinnen der modernen Frauenliteratur. Marlen Haushofer wurde mit zahlreichen Literaturpreisen geehrt. Sie starb 1970 in Wien.
