Should just stopped printing them instead of this revamp. Ruined the most innocent part of my youth. Face the facts, gen z will never pay attention to something as dated as archie comics, its a lost cause. Its not cool, its not hip and youngsters dont relate to a comic almost a century old.

This was a really great start to the series. I would say it was a bit content light, but it was the first issue and establishing characters is pretty par for the course. The characters do seem to have a depth to them, which is nice. Updated character models are also pretty recognizable, but also nice and refined. All in all, I think this deserves around a 4.5. As the reviews are currently a bit low, I am rating this a bit high to compromise.

I grew up reading these in the 80's and my Dad's collection started in the late forties so I had much time spent with these characters and Riverdale. Betty is not as hot, Jughead is way cuter and cooler, he had a low key stoner vibe before. Reggie transitioned great. Lookin forward to Moose, Pops, and the Lodges. Mr. Weatherby is closest to the same. Loved that the very first appearance of Archie, Betty, and Jughead was included. Interesting that first glance made me think of the 80's clothes n hair, guess kids are back into 'retro' but also Archie and Steve, among others, closely resemble Disney actors on my neices fave show of high schoolers.... look forward to other issues. Was def worth the 99¢ intro price!
